March 2015 - Under 14 Blues win the County Cup

An amazing final 3 minutes saw Barton Rovers have their hands on the trophy, only for AFC to draw level with the last kick of the game to take the final to penalties.

AFC, who had beaten the same team 3-1 in the league 5 days earlier, pushed their luck to the limit to clinch the trophy. AFC started the game the stronger and took the lead on 30 minutes when Tom Dean converted a penalty. They continued to press for the 2nd goal but it was denied as the Barton keeper made a couple of fine saves.

Barton came out a different team after the break and pushed AFC back. With 6 minutes remaining they drew level with a fine individual goal. They thought they had won it, when in the final minute they took the lead. AFC pushed forward one more time and when Louie Griffith broke clear, he coolly slotted home with 3 minutes of added on time played. Barton just had time to kick off when the referee blew his whistle. AFC went on to win the penalty shoot out 4-3.

Well done to all the lads and management team.
