June 2015 - Under 15's make national cup final

The clubs Under 15 EJA 2015-16 team made the final of the ACES National Cup Final only to lose on penalties. The competition which sees team's represent their town, AFC were there on behalf of Dunstable.

Having reached the quarter and semi final's in the past, the boys went one better by reaching the final.

Drawn in a group with Tipton (D0-0), Aylesbury (W1-0), Poole (W1-0) and Fareham (W2-0), they topped the group and moved onto the quarter final against North Leicester. With a dominate display they beat them 1-0 as the scoreline flattered their opponents. Next up was Peterborough in the semi final and once again produce a complete display of football running out 2-0 winners.

So onto the final against North Leicester. Again they dominated the game hitting the crossbar and having strikes on goal cleared off the line, but just could not find the elusive goal to pick up the trophy. So onto the dreaded penalty shoot out and now their opponents were slight favourites, as they had won their knockout games on penalties and this was to be the case.

A big well done to all the players and everyone at the club are proud of their achievements.
