10th November - Cockfosters 0 AFC Dunstable 2 (Challenge Trophy 2nd Round)

After the disappointment of losing their unbeaten league record on Saturday, AFC bounced back straight away with a fine win at Cockfosters.

This being the 4th time the 2 teams have met already this season, it was a much changed line up for the visitors as Steve Heath decided to rest a few players. Good news though, was a substitute appearance by last seasons top scorer Jermaine Hall. After missing the last 12 games through an ankle injury, he took to the field and was involved in an assist.

The following report is short, due to the absence of the reporter. AFC took the lead, when Brandon Carney got on the end of a Danny Jones cross on 28 minutes. The OD's took that lead into the break and extended it 12 minutes from time when Hall set up Jordon Frederick to score his first goal for the club. This set up a 3rd Round tie away to Hadley.

AFC boss Heath was pleased with application of his team saying " to come back from the reverse on Saturday shows great heart from my players. Cockfosters have strengthened their squad recently, so to come here on a Tuesday night shows great character" On being displaced from the top of the league by London Colney's win he said " I don't think its no bad thing not be top, as you are always there to be shot at. We have found teams in the lower parts of the league raise their games when we played them"
