16th January - AFC Dunstable 8 FC Broxbourne Borough 0

The OD's put behind them the disappointment of exiting the FA Vase and 3 winless games in the league, which also saw them unable to register a goal, as they racked up 8 today. Hat trick a piece for Nathan Frater and BJ Christie put the icing on the cake, with Jason Beck and Jermaine Hall also getting on the score sheet. This win was AFC's biggest in the SSML Premier Division since their debut season in 2011-12, with 6-0 and 7-1 wins over Hanwell Town. Three 10-0 wins in the clubs 2006-7 title winning season in Division Two was just out of reach.

AFC boss Steve Heath was mighty pleased with the performance saying " I thought the lads performed superb today, it is no fluke it happened, as we have worked hard in training to deliver it. To be fair to Broxbourne's management team, they told me they did not have a weakend team today and the majority of them that played put 6 past Berkhamsted recently"

You would have not seen that scoreline based on the what happened in the 1st half. Both teams were pretty much evenly matched and AFC's opener on 23 minutes was a scrappy affair as Frater prodded the ball home from close range. With half time approaching, Christie slipped away from Matt Turpin and set up an unmarked Frater for him to secure his 2nd.

Half time: AFC Dunstable 2 FC Broxbourne Borough 0

What no one saw though, was a devastating 9 minutes that destroyed the visitors. The first warning shot came when Christie thought he had opened his account on 47 minutes but was struck off for an infringement. Then on 51 minutes, a lovely cross from Moses Olaleye picked out Beck who headed home. 5 minutes later Christie had the ball in the net again but was cancelled out for off side. He did not have to wait long to finally score. 60 seconds later he broke clear to chalk up AFC's 4th. There was no rest bite for Broxbourne as again within a minute it was 5-0. Christie was upended by Boro's keeper Emmanuel Olajide and up stepped Frater to complete his hat trick from the spot. It got worse on the hour for the visitors, as Beck set up Christie to make it 6.

With still half an hour to go, it was looking like AFC would get to double figures. Broxbourne had to thank Olajide for keeping the AFC forwards a bay, as they went for the jugular. He denied Christie a couple of more times, made a smart save from a Charlie Gorman strike and kept out sub Hall, who had came on for Frater.

With the result looking like 6-0 to AFC, Christie and Hall fired a goal apiece in the closing stages to make it 8.
