25th October - AFC Dunstable 0 Royston Town 1

AFC welcomed league leaders Royston Town to Creasey Park and pushed them all the way, as they had to work extremely hard to earn all 3 points.

In a game of relevantly few chances, the visitors probably edged the game but it was a good test for AFC to see how far they have come since their promotion to the Southern League.

Steve Heath was able to field an unchanged line up from Saturday but missing was BJ Christie, James Bishop and Leon Cashman. He is hoping to have Cashman back from his injury in about 2 weeks, Bishop is around 3 weeks away and Christie was in Las Vegas. Back from injury was Ollie Cox, who took his place on the bench.

What the game maybe lacked in finesse, it was full blooded, as both teams gave everything and did not give an inch.

A John Frendo goal on 70 minutes was the only goal of the game. As a result, Royston went 7 points clear at the top of the league.

Heath was happy with his teams application saying "we worked hard all night and it was good to see the lads put in a shift. Royston's team is littered with players who have step 2 and 3 experience with the odd player who have played Football League. They are going all out for the title and it was pleasing to see we competed all night"
