25th March - AFC Dunstable 1 Arlesey Town 2

Looking to secure their 4th league win on the trot and to have a great chance of picking up the Team of the Month with a 100% record for March, AFC turned in an inept performance and got what they deserved, a defeat to relegation threatened Arlesey Town.

The boot was on the other foot this time for AFC, as in their last 2 home games, late goals had seen them take the points.

With the wind again at Creasey Park playing a major factor in the game, it was the visitors who came to terms with it. Fighting for their lives, Arlesey were well a truly up for the game, as their performance belied their lowly position.

The 1st half was a messy affair without any clear cut chances coming. Garry Malone in the AFC goal had to pull off a full length save early one. With the man in the middle being rather fussy, he was showing the yellow card far too often for every ones liking.

Finally a goal nearing half time saw AFC take the lead. As the visitors failing to clear their lines, BJ Christie turned neatly in the penalty area to find the bottom corner.

Half time: AFC Dunstable 1 Arlesey Town 0

If the hosts thought the game was there for the taking, Town pressed alot more all over the park and started causing AFC problems.

Again Malone had to be at his agile best to deny Arlesey but he could not prevent them from drawing level. Tony Williams got on the end of a neat move on 72 minutes to equalise.

The visitors continued to look the better side, as they denied AFC any space but also created chances. With the game entering added on time, AFC gave away a needless free kick. From that, sub Taylor Rhiney flicked the ball on unmarked and it ended up in the AFC net.

AFC boss Steve Heath was reflective at the full time whistle saying "it was just not our day. It seemed Arlesey wanted it more than us and that was the case. I have to put it down as a bad day at the office, as the team recently have been top class. It is maybe the kick up the back side we needed to wipe away any complacency that has crept in. We have an away day at Petersfield next Saturday, so I need to get the lads up for that"
