Club History & Honours

After 23 years known as Old Dunstablians Football Club, the club took the decision to rename itself AFC Dunstable for the start of the 2004-2005 season as we strive to become a community club for the town of Dunstable.
The name Old Dunstablians originated from an organisation formed in 1888 for former pupils of Dunstable Grammar School. The most famous member of the club was Hollywood film star Gary Cooper.
A blue plaque bears is name on a building opposite the school.

When the Grammar School closed down and Manshead opened they took over the mantle, but the old boys club was in steady decline. In 1981 the head of Manshead School was asked if he could relaunch the name somehow, hence the football club was born.

By 1988 after its centenary the Old Dunstablians Club ceased to exist but the football club carried on in commemoration.
