Three New Signings

4th January 2006

It was a busy period over the festive time as the club went into the transfer market.
First on the agenda was the transfer of Gary Capehorn from Division One outfit Dunstable Town 98. Gary was part of our championship winning team back in season 2003-04.
Next up was Gareth Seeley's move from Premier Division Biggleswade Town. Finally Lee McCulloch has rejoined the club. Lee who was captain when we won the league, was a regular for Hitchin Town 1st team all of last season and the beginning of this, but has suffered an injury and has moved down the pecking order at Hitchin.

Last Unbeaten Record Gone

The last unbeaten team in the club have finally been defeated. The under 8's travelled to Markyate and went down 3-0. It was quite a shock to the system as we did beat them 3-0 earlier in the season.

Seeley Out For The Season

9th March 2006

It looks like influential 1st team midfielder Gareth Seeley will be out for the rest of the season, with a broken bone in his foot.
Gareth, who joined us from Biggleswade Town, has struggled with injury this term and will be in plaster for 6 weeks.

Under 17's Cup Final Woe

Sunday 12th March 2006

The Under 17's fell at the final hurdle to a very strong Stotfold Under 18's team in the County Cup Final.
With our opponents possessing many players over 6 foot, our lads looked like minnows in comparison.
The early stages of the game was an even affair and to be fair we should have been 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes. Richard Maggott came close on 7 minutes when his shot just drifted wide. Another fine move resulted in a post being hit and the following scramble their keeper hung onto the ball.
Stotfold took the lead on 18 minutes, and when a midfield mistake resulted in a 2nd 4 minutes later the lads heads went down and Stotfold started to dominate.
We competed better in the 2nd half, but once again a mistake at the back let in Stotfold for their 3rd. Phil Feakes should have pulled a consolation goal back in the dying minutes but it was not to be.
